Children's Action Board (CAB)

Every month Children for Children hosts two hands-on service projects and we invite you to Grow Involved!

Throughout the year, 5- to 13-year-olds work together in different NYC neighborhoods to improve schools or help the community. Children's Action Board (CAB) projects take place twice monthly. Each month, CFC presents a Service Project of the Month for CAB participants, which will take place once at a New York City school and once at another location. Children may participate in one or more projects. There is no fee to participate. Parents or responsible adults must accompany children and arrange transportation to and from events, if necessary. If you are interested in having your school as the Service Project of the Month location, e-mail

For each event, participants should RSVP to CFC at 212.708.0200. Also, the CAB schedule is subject to change depending on the weather and other factors. So be sure and check for updates.

Teen volunteers are welcome to help lead or organize CAB events. Once you volunteer, Volunteer Forms must be completed and returned to CFC. Contact CFC at 212.708.0200 or email for a volunteer form or Download Volunteer Forms »

"It was a lot of fun to bake cookies and brownies. I worked with my friend Catherine. We sold the cookies to help the children in a school. I like to help other children, because it makes me feel good."

"I wanted to volunteer this summer, but I didn't know what to do. I looked on the Kids for Community website and found a cool place to work in a park by my home."
