The team’s primary goal is to develop and run a successful kick-off event and service event for Global Youth Service Day in April. The YPC also plays an instrumental role in CFC’s Family Fun’raiser, Grow Involved on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and Service Projects of the Month, helping to run activities and providing guidance to younger volunteers. Last year, 19 teens from 11 different schools developed a Poetry and Music event addressing current issues facing our communities and world that launched a weekend of volunteering during National & Global Youth Service Day. Read More >>

Bookmark this article using:

CFC takes a look back at some of the projects and activities that young volunteers have done, and continue to do, to help their peers in the Gulf. Read CFC's September 2005 Program Spotlight on Humanity Plaza and see photos from this and other Hurricane Katrina-related events.

Twenty-four months have passed since the hurricane touched down, and there is still a lot of work to be done to help families and communties affected by the storm and the events that followed. What are some things that can you do at home, at school, and in your community to help? Click here for information on how to get started with your own volunteer project!

Bookmark this article using:
